The
Post Windmill at Flowerdew Hundred needed significant structural
repairs. Such
an investment warranted a full inspection of the post and foundation
structure that could only be accomplished by removing
the Mill body and placing it safely on the ground for the restoration
of internal structural elements.
Specialized equipment such as this crane is rented as needed to keep costs
down and maximize productivity.
Once
the Mill body was safely resting on the ground, removal of
the old Crowntree began the repair process.
